Notes: Simeon has struggled to secure consistent work, so he frequently journeys into San Marcos proper (city) for whatever work or alms to support his family. The children did start school this year, however they have not been able to make it there for some time due to their financial struggles. Poverty makes education very difficult as they focus on the life sustaining basics.

You might notice that their kitchen is technically outside of the house, where they have stacked up firewood high enough to double as barriers to the elements, making it more comfortable while they are cooking. The firewood is used for cooking purposes.
